Competitive Class - June 28, 2020 - 8 AM EST
RUN1 - 1.5 miles
Starting no sooner than 8 AM EST, run 1.5 miles.
Record your time, and save it to STRAVA, Garmin Connect, MapMyRun, or grab a photo of your watch face and post it to social media (#NEVT).
RUN1 may not start prior to 8AM EST (we'll be checking) AND must be completed in time to make the 9:15 AM EST BIKE Meet Up in ZWIFT
Can be done indoors or outdoors.
RUN1 finish must be within .25 miles of where it started
BIKE - 13.1 miles
At 9:15 AM EST, the ZWIFT Meet Ups will kick off on a 13.1 mile virtual bike course
Your ACTUAL bike doesn't matter, but you MUST have selected a Time Trial bike for your ZWIFT rider
Similar to wave starts, athletes will be invited to specific event ZWIFT Meet Ups, according to their age groupings
We will be riding in ZWIFT's Watopia, on the Sand and Sequoias loop - Course Details HERE
Save your ride to ZWIFT, STRAVA, Garmin Connect, or grab a screenshot of your BIKE split and post it to social media (#NEVT)
RUN2 - 3.1 miles
Get out the door or onto the treadmill in under 10 minutes, to finish off the day with a 3.1 mile run.
Record your time, and save it to STRAVA, Garmin Connect, MapMyRun, or grab a photo of your watch face and post it to social media (#NEVT).
RUN2 finish must be within .25 miles of where it started
Submit Your Results!
Just because you're finished, doesn't mean that you're done!
We will provide you with a web-form through which you will provide your splits for, each, RUN1, BIKE, and RUN2, as well as your back-up evidence in the form of STRAVA, Garmin Connect, MapMyRun/Ride, or social media screenshot URL links
On the day of the event, your Result Submission form will be provided/available through email and on the event homepage
This is where you will also choose your 'Grab Bag' item
MUST be submitted prior to 3 PM EST!!!
A Peak Into A Competitive Virtual Event
- Working ZWIFT account, with in-game
TT bike enabled
- ZWIFT Companion app on phone or
other mobile device
- 'Smart'-trainer (ex. Wahoo Kickr),
or a
traditional indoor trainer with
a bike-
based power meter
- Unfortunately, though the ZWIFT
software works with wheel-based
speed sensors, we cannot allow
them
as part of the Competitive
Class at this
time.
